Northbound Nevada Avenue was reopened by 6:30 p.m. Friday after being closed near Austin Bluffs Parkway after a vehicle caught fire south of the intersection a few hours earlier. 

The fire sparked after two vehicles collided. Nobody was transported to the hospital, CSPD said. The department did issue a ticket for reckless driving, a duty officer said.

The Colorado Springs Police Department reported the fire and closure just before 5:30 p.m.

“Responders are on scene,” the Police Department said. “Please avoid the area.”
