Prep volleyball: Area schools gear up for regionals, vie for state berths as season nears its end
Just two weeks remain in the girls volleyball season and several teams can qualify for next week’s state tournament with an undefeated weekend.
Colorado High School Activities Association released regional tournament brackets Monday morning and nearly 20 area teams qualified.
Teams must win their regional tournament, which begins Friday, to earn a state berth. The state tournament starts Nov. 13-15 at Denver Coliseum.
Below are notes on some of the area teams and the regional schedule.
5A
Rampart (21-2)
The Rams have their fourth 20-win season since 2019 and rode an 18-match win streak to the end of October. Rampart lost to Eaton 23-25, 25-18, 25-17, 19-25, 13-15, at Saturday’s Cheyenne Mountain Invitational, but rebuilt a three-game winning streak to close the regular season.
In 23 matches, the Rams have dropped just 20 sets and have not lost back-to-back contests since 2024.
4A
Lewis-Palmer (15-8)
After a 4-7 start to the season, the Rangers head to regionals with an 11-1 record in their past 12 matches. The “1” in that 11-1 came Saturday against 5A Mountain Vista, which handed the Rangers their first loss since Sept. 23.
The Rangers also continue to find success without senior Madi Crowe, who was injured Sept. 23 in Lewis-Palmer’s match against Lutheran.
3A
The Classical Academy (21-2)
Last year, the Titans narrowly missed qualifying for state and ended the season 18-7. Now, the Titans closed the regular season on an 11-match winning streak and have been fierce on the court.
TCA dropped just 12 sets in 23 matches and, since its loss to Cheyenne Mountain on Oct. 4, the Titans have lost just six in 11 contests.
Village (16-7)
Although the Mountaineers are not hosting a regional, they remain formidable. The defending 3A state champions started 1-5, but flaunt a 15-2 record since Sept. 2.
During that 17-match stretch, the Mountaineers have dropped just nine sets and swept 11 of those opponents.
1A
Evangel Christian Academy (19-4)
In their 23 matches, the Eagles swept 14 of their opponents. The Eagles had not eclipsed 18 wins in a season since 2009 when they finished 18-5. But that ECA team lost its final three games.
These Eagles lost back-to-back games once this year and have not dropped three consecutive contests since 2024.

Top 12 teams will host a regional tournament. For 5A-2A, second and third matches occur following the opening contest. Each 1A tournament will have one regional with two teams.
