The first snowfall in Colorado Springs last year was on Oct. 30, and this year, Halloween came and went without that first white coat covering the ground.

This dry weather pattern may stick around through the end of the month, Meteorologist Cameron Simcoe with the National Weather Service in Pueblo said. Colorado Springs has highs in the 60s and low 70s in the forecast this week, with no precipitation to be expected.

“There is (no snow) that we can see in the next week or two in the Springs,” Simcoe said. “November may be fairly dry.”

The average first snowfall in the Springs is Oct. 24, and the record for the latest snowfall is Dec. 2, in 2016, according to Simcoe, so this delayed first-fall is nothing out of the ordinary.

“In Colorado Springs, the average normal highs are in the upper 50s, with lower temperatures coming through the end of the month,” Simcoe said. “This year, it’ll be a dry and windy November, but nothing out of the norm.”

The lookahead

Monday in Colorado Springs has a high of around 56 degrees, with a nighttime low of 37 degrees. It’s expected to be partly cloudy with wind speeds between 10 and 15 mph.

Tuesday has the high of the week at 73 degrees, and a nighttime low of 39 degrees. The Weather Service predicts that it will be mostly sunny with winds between 5 and 10 mph.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny and has an expected high of 65 degrees and a nighttime low of 40 degrees. Winds will be between 5 and 15 mph.

Thursday has a predicted high of 68 degrees with a nighttime low of 34 degrees. Wind speeds will pick up, with an expected 15-20 mph breeze and gusts up to 35 mph.

Friday will be mostly sunny with a high of 61 degrees and a nighttime low of 36 degrees. Winds will be between 5 and 10 mph.
