El Paso County sheriff’s deputies arrested two people and seized over 200 fentanyl pills, Xanax pills, crack cocaine, PCP, methamphetamine and heroin during a traffic stop Sunday night in unincorporated El Paso County, the Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday.

Deputies removed Juan Gonzales-Gomez, 26, and Keri Shay, 24, from the vehicle after observing burnt residue on a piece of foil during the stop near 5510 S. Highway 85/87, according to a news release.

In addition to the drugs, deputies allegedly found a gun, scale, ledger and over $5,800 cash while searching the vehicle and both suspects.

According to the release, both suspects face charges of unlawful distribution; manufacturing, dispensing or sale; unlawful possession of a controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Gonzales-Gomez also faces charges of second-degree introducing contraband and driving 10 to 19 mph over the speed limit. In addition to the drug charges, Shay faces a count of tampering with physical evidence.
