A chief warrant officer at Fort Carson reached a plea agreement after facing a potential court-martial this week over accusations she assaulted a child under 16. 

Chief Warrant Officer 3 Amanda Hoxie was facing charges claiming that she strangled a child, hit her on the face, pulled her hair and threatened to kill her in April 2024.

Hoxie also failed to call 911 after the incident and told at least one bystander not to call 911. She faced a charge of child endangerment for failing to call emergency responders to care for the child she was caring for and an obstruction of justice charge for telling someone else not to call. 

Instead of taking the case to a court-martial, the command accepted a plea agreement and imposed “an alternate disposition,” a statement from Fort Carson said. 

The disposition — or penalty — is administrative and will not be released under the Privacy Act, the statement said. 

Hoxie is assigned to the Signal Intelligence and Sustainment Company, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion of the 4th Infantry Division. As a chief warrant officer 3, she is considered a technical expert in her field.
