A man is being charged with first-degree kidnapping and burglary after Colorado Springs police say he forced two people into a vehicle while holding them at gunpoint early Friday morning.

Fernando Juarez, 44, was arrested after officers responded to a neighborhood in the 2200 block of East Dale Street for a burglary call shortly after 2:30 a.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department reported in an online blotter entry. Upon arrival, they found the people inside the car.

Police said Juarez came to a home looking for his son and forced his way inside through the front door, and then pointed a gun at two people before leading them to his vehicle.

Officers managed to find the people inside the car before anything else happened and took Juarez into custody. The two people were also arrested for unrelated warrants, police said.
