Ruxton Avenue in Manitou Springs is closed on Thursday so the city can remove a hazardous tree posing safety concerns to the community, officials said in a news release.

The road will be closed from the intersection of Brook Street and Ruxton Avenue to Bluff Avenue and Pilot Knob Avenue from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the release.

A detour route is in place. No parking will be permitted in the area.

“Traffic management signs and crews will be in place to assist motorists and pedestrians. This will be an active work zone. Please do not trespass into marked areas. Individuals entering restricted zones may be subject to citation,” city officials said in the release.
