Cañon City man facing over 1,300 counts in child sexual exploitation case

Cañon City police arrested a man after detectives allegedly found over a thousand videos and images of child sexual abuse materials in his possession, according to a Thursday news release.

Jordan Reynolds, 23, of Cañon City, is charged with over 1,000 counts of sexual exploitation of a child related to photos and over 200 related to videos.

Police began their investigation Sept. 2 after Reynolds allegedly attempted to take photos up a woman’s skirt at a Walmart, according to the release.

After an initial review, officers determined the case needed more investigation for a reason not stated in the release.

In a “lengthy” investigation, detectives found Reynolds possessed over a thousand photos and 235 videos of what appeared to be child sexual abuse material, according to the release.

Police also found 37 videos allegedly produced by Reynolds of people unaware they were being recorded, including one that “supports a criminal charge of sexual assault.”

Reynolds faces:

  • 1,088 counts of sexual exploitation of a child, photos
  • 235 counts of sexual exploitation of a child, videos
  • Sexual assault
  • Incest
  • 14 counts of criminal attempt at invasion of privacy
  • 23 counts of criminal invasion of privacy

The investigation is ongoing by Cañon City police. Reynolds’ next court date is scheduled for Wednesday morning in Fremont County.
