The popular Japanese Cultural Bazaar is moving from its longtime location on the UCCS campus this year to the Family Success Center at 1520 Verde Drive, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Free admission and parking. A cultural delight, it features performances, dances, traditional dress, food and local vendors with authentic goods. Trick-or-treat for Halloween history at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum’s History Detectives: Halloween History Hunt, 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the museum’s annex in Plaza of the Rockies, 121 S. Tejon St., Suite 100. Costumes encouraged for this story time and “creepy-crawly craft.” Reservations at cspm.org

SATURDAY

One of the YMCA’s fun race series, the annual Creepy Crawl 5K goes along the Santa Fe Trail in Palmer Lake on Saturday. Costumes always encouraged. All three races are fundraisers for YMCA programs in the region. Next up the Turkey Trot at the Briargate YMCA on Thanksgiving and the Jingle Jog at the Fountain-Fort Carson High School on Dec. 13. The 500  talented members of the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony are featured in fall concerts at the Wasson Academic Campus Auditorium, 2115 Afton Way. The newest exhibit at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science is an intimate look at one of the most beloved animals ever, The Secret World of Elephants, opening Friday. This is an opportunity for Coloradans to experience during its first stop on a national tour before it returns to New York’s American Museum of Natural History. Interactive stations offer the sounds of the mammals as you listen to their conversations. Follow the elephants through their history, where and how they live and why they’re endangered.
