Last week, the 4th Judicial District saw a judge hand down a 30-year prison sentence to the defendant in the deadly 2024 Sinton Road shooting and a trial date set for co-defendants in the kidnapping and sexual assault case of two local runaways.

More hearings are in store for this week. Here is the rundown:

Monday

Caden Meade, a 20-year-old Fort Carson soldier from North Carolina accused of kidnapping and sexual assault, is due back in court for a disposition hearing.

Meade was arrested after allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a 29-year-old woman at Quail Lake Park in the early morning hours of July 8.

Typically, a disposition hearing allows the defendant the opportunity to either enter into a plea agreement with the prosecution or move to take his case to trial.

Tuesday

Joseph Somosky, a Colorado Bureau of Investigation agent who resigned after being cited with bigamy, is set for a pretrial conference on the misdemeanor charge.

Somosky was charged in July after allegedly being married to two people and resigned in lieu of termination after an internal investigation by CBI.

Wednesday

Johnny Morris, the main suspect in a multi-agency missing persons investigation that spanned over a week across two counties in late 2024 that left two dead, is set for a preliminary hearing.

Morris, 47, faces homicide charges in the bludgeoning deaths of Stephen Walker, 37, and Timmy Huston, 65, in December. Morris’s co-defendant, Hailey Cole, also faces homicide charges related to the deaths.

Morris has the right to waive the hearing, moving the case forward as charged.

Friday

Aaron Mocalkins, a Colorado Springs man arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting an infant and possessing thousands of pieces of child pornography, is set for sentencing Friday in Arapahoe County.

Mocalkins, 35, faces over 20 charges including sexual exploitation of a child, sexual assault of a child, cruelty to animals and other alleged offenses.

However, a number of those charges were dismissed in August following Mocalkins entering into a plea agreement with the prosecution.
