Work set to begin to pave gravel road near Monument

Construction crews will start work next week on upgrading Beacon Lite Road, a partially gravel connector between Highway 105 in Monument and County Line Road running parallel to Interstate 25, according to El Paso County officials.

Beacon Lite will see lane closures starting Monday for erosion control and other construction activities. Drivers are advised to use caution in the construction zone.

The project will include paving Beacon Lite with asphalt, and making improvements to curves, grades and drainage. According to the county, the work will make winter maintenance and stormwater management easier.

Crews with contractor Capital Paving & Construction plan to finish the project by late 2026.

The $8.2 million project is paid for through the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority, a regional taxpayer-funded pool for roadwork.
