The Colorado Springs School on Broadmoor Avenue was evacuated as police swept through campus to investigate a bomb threat made Friday, a school spokesperson confirmed.

Communication and Marketing Director Marie Newbrough said the threat was made shortly after 8 a.m., when students were starting classes. The school closed for the rest of the day.

The Colorado Springs Police Department said there was “zero credible elements” to the threat. No injuries have been reported, and police cleared the scene by 12:30 p.m.

Police are still investigating the origin of the threat.

“The team on site handled it very well and followed all of the necessary steps from our emergency protocol. At the end of the day, we need to make sure the students entrusted to us are safe, and that’s what we did,” said Head of School Ryan Kelly.

Founded in 1962, the private school has a 28-acre campus with eight buildings for students in grades K-12.
