A rider is dead after losing control of her motorcycle while driving along a Colorado Springs road Thursday, police said.

Officers arrived to the 4000 block of Maizeland Road at around 4:45 p.m. and found a 26-year-old woman badly injured, Colorado Springs police reported in an online blotter entry. Medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the woman died on scene.

Located east of Palmer Park, investigators believe the wreck happened while the motorcyclist was driving eastbound along Maizeland. At this time, speed nor impairment appear to be factors in the crash.
