Colorado Springs-area brew festivals offer many reasons to rejoice
Colorado Springs-area beer lovers will have much to rejoice about this weekend as two brew festivals will offer a wide variety of beverages from dozens of local breweries and wineries.
On Friday, the Dead Man’s Brewfest returns to Colorado Springs for its seventh straight year. The event, held at Weidner Field, promises hand-selected beers, wines and spirits from 17 breweries and distilleries.
“We put a lot into it to make sure that there is a great variety for the attendees to enjoy, said Jeff VonHolle, director of sales, catering and events for Switchbacks Entertainment. “So there will be all types of beers, from the traditional to the fall seasonal types of beer. There will be plenty of spirits and wine as well.”
The 2024 brewfest was a success despite the foul weather, with hundreds of people attending despite a downpour, VonHolle said.
“Last year, we weren’t very fortunate with the weather. There was rain in the forecast all week, and boy, did it rain that day. Still, we had about 700 people attend. We’re hoping the weather cooperates this year.”
This year’s Brewfest will partner with iHeart as well as the nonprofit Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Colorado, officials said.
On Saturday in Manitou Springs, the annual Heritage Brew Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary at Memorial Park, with food, live music, and offerings from more than 20 local breweries.
Launched in 2015 in partnership with the Manitou Springs Chamber of Commerce, the annual festival helps raise funds for the city’s Heritage Center and Museum to keep admission free of charge. Attendees will enjoy local food, local music and local beer — not to mention a scenic Pikes Peak backdrop.
Attendees must be 21 or older to be admitted into the festival.
