Victims of apparent murder-suicide in Fountain ID’d
The Fountain Police Department announced on Wednesday the names of the victims of an apparent murder-suicide on Sept. 25, also revealing two young children were in the home at the time of the deaths.
Amanda Larribas, 33, was identified as one of the deceased people at the scene of the crime, and her death is being investigated as a homicide. Robert Spruill, 33, was identified as the other deceased person, and his death is being investigated as a suicide.
The Police Department said that Larribas and Spruill had dated exclusively in the past, but their relationship status was unknown at the time of their deaths.
The Investigations Unit at the police department has assumed control of the investigation.
Police were dispatched at 11:06 a.m. on Sept. 25 to an open line with an active disturbance in the background in the 1500 block of Bonita Drive, according to the police department. When officers arrived, they found two deceased people and two young children who were unharmed.
The state and wellbeing of the children is unknown at this time.
This is the fourth murder-suicide in El Paso County this year, according to previous reporting by The Gazette and Gazette news partner KOAA.
