Avenger open house

After an overwhelming response to the Avenger Open Space community survey, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will be hosting a Community Open House on Oct. 15 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Ute Pass Cultural Center.

This is the Community’s final chance to provide their input on what goes into the conservation easement for the Avenger Open Space.

Cascade FD hosts annual chili supper

The Cascade Volunteer Fire Department hosts its annual free chili supper from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Cascade Fire Station at 8015 Severy Ave. With Sparky the fire dog and education about fire protection, the supper is free but donations support the local fire department.

According to the Home Legacy Group at Coldwell Banker 1st Choice Realty, 70 homes sold in August in Teller County and Ute Pass. In Woodland Park, of 36 homes sold, the highest-priced was $649,000, the lowest, $194,500. In Divide, of 9 homes sold, the highest-priced was $1.7 million, the lowest, $305,000. In Florissant, of 19 homes sold, the highest-priced was $1.89 million, the lowest, $113,000. In the Cripple Creek\Victor area, of 3 homes sold, the highest-priced was $535,000, the lowest, $422,000. In Ute Pass,1 home sold for $340,000.

SSR Mining Co. Cripple Creek\Victor Mining sponsored the State of the County Breakfast Sept. 24 hosted by the Greater Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce.
