One person arrested after two Colorado Springs middle schoolers ‘menaced’ with gun

Colorado Springs police arrested one person after a search warrant that found guns was prompted after two students were “menaced with a gun,” according to a blotter entry from the department.

On Monday, Panorama Middle School was notified about an incident involving two of its students, which took place in front of the school, according to the blotter entry.

Through interviews and surveillance, the school resources officer was able to identify the suspect, who has a prior felony conviction. On Thursday, a search warrant was executed on the suspect’s home, where two handguns and an assault rifle with a scope were recovered.

The entry stated police also found “numerous pieces of property, including military equipment” that were previously reported stolen during car burglaries.

The suspect was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
