Nearly a dozen individuals were observed in a “heated argument” early Friday morning at an apartment after a report of a “large fight,” according to a news release by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday.
Deputies responded to the apartment in the 1600 block of Hampton South in an unincorporated part of the county around 2:30 a.m. and discovered the individuals in a parking lot.
The release stated deputies, after restoring order, were advised there were victims inside the residence and found “multiple occupants” with injuries from “minor to serious.”
An investigation determined one adult female and three juveniles assaulted the occupants of the residence after forcing their way in. Neighbors intervened in the incident and forced the suspects outside, according to the release.
The Stratmoor Hills Fire Department provided medical care before the victims were transported to a hospital, the release stated.
The adult female, 18-year-old Aolani Barnes, was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit second-degree assault, contributing to the delinquency to a minor and third-degree assault.
