Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off updates: Balloons launch off Sunday morning
The 49th annual Labor Day Liftoff hot air balloon festival is underway this weekend at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs.
Balloons were cleared to launch on Sunday morning amid clear skies. The ballon glow event planned for Saturday night will include aerial acrobats, two concerts, vendors and a drone show. Festivities begin at 3:30 p.m. If weather cooperates, balloons will inflate for a static, illuminated display around 7:30 p.m.
Sunday morning’s successful launch comes after wind, rain and lightning on Saturday grounded the balloons.
The Saturday night balloon glow, and the launch on Monday morning are the remaining two events for this weekend’s festival.
