1 dead, 1 injured in Saturday afternoon crash north of Monument on I-25

One person is dead and another has been flown to a hospital after a crash on Interstate 25 at Palmer Divide, north of Monument, Saturday afternoon, according to Colorado State Patrol.
A collision between a silver Honda Accord and a GMC Yukon occurred around 12:15 p.m. The crash caused one of the vehicles to roll multiple times, according to Trooper Hunter Mathews . The driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead on scene, and its passenger was flown to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The right lane on I-25 between exit 163 and exit 167, a mile north of the Woodmoor exit, is closed, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. A detour is in place, and the agency advises to drive at slower speeds.
Mathews expects the lane to be closed for at least two more hours as of 4:30 p.m.
The cause of the crash is unknown.
