Pueblo police were searching for Alehandro Chacon, 20, in connection with an overnight shooting in the 1600 block of Spruce Street that left a woman dead, authorities said in a social media post Thursday. 

Chacon is wanted on suspicion of first-degree murder, police said. 

The woman’s death is the city’s ninth homicide this year, according to a news release. Pueblo had 15 homicides at this point in 2024.

The Pueblo County Corner’s Office will release the victim’s name after it notifies her family.
