2 motorcyclists in fatal Colorado Springs crashes identified

Two motorcyclists involved in fatal single-vehicle crashes in July were identified, according to separate news releases Monday from Colorado Springs police.
The motorcyclist involved in a fatal single-vehicle crash in the 4100 block of Drennan Road on July 19 was identified as Johnny Givens, 27, according to the release.
A police investigation found the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to navigate a roundabout, the release said. Givens was determined to be deceased at the scene.
Man killed in July crash on Colorado Springs' east side identified
The second motorcyclist was identified as Richard Mondragon. According to the release, Mondragon, 60, lost control and tipped over July 27 near North Weber Street and East Bijou Street. He died a day later.
A passenger was treated for injuries and was listed in stable condition, the release said. Neither the rider nor passenger was wearing a helmet.
Colorado Springs has had 32 traffic fatalities in 2025, the same number as this time last year.
