Pueblo police are investigating a shooting in the 200 block of Mesa Avenue that left one man dead early Wednesday.

The Police Department said its Real-Time Crime Center ShotSpotter technology detected the shooting around 3 a.m. and that a camera captured the incident on video.

Officers discovered seven shell casings and were notified that a man with a gunshot wound was left at a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to a news release. 

This was Pueblo’s eighth homicide of 2025. The city had 15 homicides at this time last year.
