Jay Hafemeister and his father, Jim Hafemeister, partners in JH Foods Ltd., who brought Dave’s Hot Chicken, the fast-growing chicken franchise, to the Springs, are set to open a second location at 5860 Barnes Road (Barnes Road and Powers Boulevard) this month.

Dave’s Hot Chicken is known for its jumbo hot chicken tenders and sliders, which can be offered in seven spice levels ranging from No Spice to Reaper, which requires a signed waiver for those who dare to try it.

Also on the menu are kale slaw, mac n’ cheese and french fries. There’s also the Cauli, which are cauliflower tenders served as a sandwich.
