The man who was struck and killed during a traffic collision last month has been identified.

Peter “Pedro” Sanchez, 64, was confirmed as the fatal victim from the crash by the Colorado Springs Police Department in a Monday news release.

On July 3 at about 8:30 p.m., CSPD was dispatched to the intersection of Constitution Avenue and Tutt Boulevard to a three-vehicle traffic crash.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a white Nissan was eastbound on Constitution Avenue, turning left to go north on Tutt Boulevard. As it began to turn left, it was struck by a green Toyota that was westbound on Constitution Avenue.

After getting hit, the Nissan struck a third vehicle. Two people were transported to local hospitals for treatment of moderate injuries. On July 18, CSPD was notified that, Sanchez, the driver of the white Nissan, died at a local hospital.

The CSPD Major Crash Team is still investigating the crash.

This is the 30th Colorado Springs traffic fatality in 2025 and the 49th in the past 365 days.
