Man killed in July crash on Colorado Springs’ east side identified
The man who was struck and killed during a traffic collision last month has been identified.
Peter “Pedro” Sanchez, 64, was confirmed as the fatal victim from the crash by the Colorado Springs Police Department in a Monday news release.
On July 3 at about 8:30 p.m., CSPD was dispatched to the intersection of Constitution Avenue and Tutt Boulevard to a three-vehicle traffic crash.
Upon arrival, officers learned that a white Nissan was eastbound on Constitution Avenue, turning left to go north on Tutt Boulevard. As it began to turn left, it was struck by a green Toyota that was westbound on Constitution Avenue.
After getting hit, the Nissan struck a third vehicle. Two people were transported to local hospitals for treatment of moderate injuries. On July 18, CSPD was notified that, Sanchez, the driver of the white Nissan, died at a local hospital.
The CSPD Major Crash Team is still investigating the crash.
This is the 30th Colorado Springs traffic fatality in 2025 and the 49th in the past 365 days.
