Avalanche to open 2025-26 season on the road — again on national TV
The Associated Press File
The Avalanche remain a hot commodity for TV networks.
Colorado will open the 2025-26 season in a nationally televised game on the road against the Los Angeles Kings. The Oct. 7 opener will be broadcast at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN.
It’s the fifth straight season the Avalanche will open a season on ESPN or TNT — one season after Colorado tied for the NHL lead with 17 national television appearances.
The Avs’ first game is part of an NHL triple-header. Chicago plays at Florida as the Panthers raise their Stanley Cup banner before Pittsburgh meets the New York Rangers.
The Avs are the nightcap. Colorado is opening on the road for the third-straight season.
