2 dead, 2 seriously injured following crash in east Colorado Springs
Two motorists are dead and two others seriously injured following a two-car crash in east Colorado Springs early Sunday, according to law enforcement officials.
The collision took place at about 4:25 a.m. at the intersection of South Powers and East Fountain boulevards, just west of the Colorado Springs Airport, police said.
Emergency responders arrived at the intersection and found two people dead in one of the vehicles at the scene. Two other people were taken to a hospital and are being treated for life-threatening injuries, officials said.
The driver of the second vehicle was also taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
Investigators determined that a vehicle heading north on Powers was trying to make a left turn onto westbound Fountain when it was hit by a second vehicle in the southbound lanes of Powers.
Any charges will be determined after further investigation, police said.
