A woman with “serious injuries” was taken to the hospital by helicopter after a horse-related incident at Cheyenne Mountain State Park on Saturday, according to the Colorado Springs Fire Department.

Officials are still investigating, but they believe the woman was bucked off the horse while riding it around 11 a.m., according to a social media post.

Park rangers from Colorado Parks and Wildlife helped firefighters gain access to the scene after crews faced difficulties getting to the woman, according to the Fire Department.

The UCHealth LifeLine helicopter responded to transport the woman to a nearby hospital.

“This is a great example of crews working together to help an individual in need,” firefighters said in the post.
