Update: At least two arrested in connection with fatal crash in east Colorado Springs
One motorist is dead following a traffic crash in east Colorado Springs on Saturday, according to an online police blotter item.
At least two arrests have been made — Julio Lopez and Christian Bustillo were arrested Sunday on charges of vehicular homicide and speed contests, among other charges stemming from the crash, according to Colorado Springs police.
The collision took place just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of Constitution Avenue and Alpine Drive, officials said.
Investigators determined that two vehicles were driving west on Constitution “at a high rate of speed” when one of them hit a vehicle that was making a left turn on Alpine. The driver of the turning vehicle succumbed to his injuries, police said.
