New Indian-fusion food truck debuts in Colorado Springs | Table Talk
Gossip Point, a new, bright orange food truck, has hit the road as “the first Indian fusion food truck (in Colorado Springs),” according to the owners, married couple Munsha and Varun Bindal.
We first met the Bindals last summer at the Indian Food Festival where they were serving slices of pizza. They were then owners of Neighborhood Pizza-Pizza, The Indian Way.
We were impressed with the Indian twist on Italian-style pies, like the chicken tikka and paneer tikka pizza slices. That business was in a testing stage, which didn’t prove to be the ideal model.
“The pizza business wasn’t working for us,” said Varun at a recent visit to the Gossip Point. “We decided to go a different direction and feature Indian flavors in a variety of styles.”
They are keeping the menu simple with most of the dishes based on the basic saucy, spicy Indian butter chicken.
“We change up how the chicken is presented,” Varun said. “For instance, we have butter chicken tacos on chips, butter chicken poutine on fries and butter chicken wraps.”
Also on the menu are butter chicken platters, samosas (try them smothered with butter chicken poutine), Pao Bhaji (spicy veggie curry), noodle bowls, nachos, pizzas and quesadillas. There are a few grilled items too, along with soft drinks.
How about that name Gossip Point?
“We wanted to bring a piece of Indian culture to the streets of Colorado Springs,” Munsha said. “In India, food isn’t just about eating. It’s about gathering.”
Munsha further explained in an email, “Whether it’s a roadside chai stand, a college canteen, or a bustling street corner, there’s always a place where people come together to share snacks and stories. These spots are often known for lively conversations, local gossip, and laughter — a kind of informal hangout we lovingly call an ‘adda.’ It’s where food and friendship meet. That’s exactly what we wanted to recreate here.”
So, the name Gossip Point is a nod to those special places. “Back home, where the food is hot and the gossip is even hotter,” Munsha said.
