A man is in custody after a stabbing that left one seriously injured Sunday night in southeast Colorado Springs, according to an online police blotter entry.

Johnny Simmons, 49, was arrested for allegedly stabbing a person in the 2700 block of Janitell Road, near Interstate 25 and South Circle Drive, around 11:15 p.m., according to police.

The person who was stabbed was taken to a nearby hospital. As of Tuesday, police confirmed they are in stable condition.

Simmons is facing attempted homicide charges, police said.
