On Tuesday, Manitou Springs firefighters will conduct a wildland fire training exercise from 6-9 p.m. in Deer Valley Park.

During this time, residents can expect to see smokey conditions and fire equipment in the area. The department advises the public about the planned training so as to not concern the public about an actual emergency.

The exercise is apart of the departments initiative to maintain readiness for wildfire responses, according to a press release from the Manitou Springs Fire Department.
