1 dies in Colorado 115 crash south of Colorado Springs
Colorado 115 was closed in both directions on Monday after a fatal crash, according to Colorado State Patrol.
The crash was reported between County Road F45 and Barrett Road near mile marker 29, north of Penrose, according to Gazette news partner, KOAA.
The collision was between a semi-truck and a sedan style car, police say. The driver of the car was transported to a local hospital via ambulance, and a juvenile passenger was airlifted to a hospital. The passenger later succumbed to their injuries.
The southbound lanes of the highway are to be closed “for an extended period of time,” with traffic alternating through the northbound lane, according to state police.
