Juvenile driver arrested after nearly hitting officer: Colorado Springs police

Man kicks out police car window while in custody: Colorado Springs police

Colorado Springs police arrested a juvenile on driving-related offenses early Sunday after responding to what was initially reported as a shooting on the city’s east side, according to an online blotter entry.

At about 2:10 a.m., officers responded to multiple shots-fired calls on Stanford Street, between East Bijou Street and Pikes Peak Avenue, police said. One caller claimed that a male had been shot at that location.

When they arrived, the officers saw a vehicle speeding away from the scene, nearly hitting an officer who was on foot, officials said. Officers were able to force the car to pull over and arrest the driver, who faces charges of vehicular eluding and reckless endangerment.

No injured persons were found at the scene, police said.
