Shane Corrigan founded The Butterfly House out of a passion for travel, the outdoors, and connecting with fellow adventurers after years of living on the road. In the summer, it serves as a hostel for thru hikers and bikers on the Colorado and Continental Divide Trails, offering amenities like showers, laundry, and Wi-Fi. During the winter, it transitions to affordable housing for Monarch Mountain employees.
