Crash knocks out traffic signal in southeast Colorado Springs
The Colorado Springs Police Department reported on Friday that the traffic lights at the intersection of Astrozon Boulevard and South Academy Boulevard were not functioning.
According to the Police Department, an accident at the intersection on the city’s southeast side resulted in the outage at around 6 p.m.
“As a result, north and southbound South Academy Boulevard is open to traffic, while east and westbound Astrozon is shut down,” the Police Department blotter states.
Westbound Astrozon traffic was being diverted onto Jet Wing Drive, and eastbound Astrozon was shut down just west of Academy with traffic being diverted onto southbound Academy Boulevard.
Police advise motorists to avoid the area at this time.
