One person is dead, and multiple others injured following a crash in north Colorado Springs that stemmed from road rage, according to police.

The crash, reported on Interstate 25 and Garden of the Gods Road at approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday, closed all northbound lanes of the interstate for hours. One southbound lane was closed as well.

Gazette news partner KOAA reported that a southbound vehicle crossed over the median and hit a northbound vehicle.

Police said one person was pronounced dead at the scene and multiple people were transported to local hospitals.

According to KOAA, three people sustained life-threatening injuries, and four others sustained minor injuries. Police reported multiple vehicles were involved.

Police arrested one person, identified as 44-year-old Durriel Humphrey. Humphrey could face felony charges  “based on actions leading to and including the crash,” police said.
