The 33rd Annual Wine Festival of Colorado Springs is California Cool!
There will be learning, tastings, and discussions at the 33rd Annual Wine Festival of Colorado Springs, from Wednesday, February 26 — Saturday, March 1. This year, the city’s premier wine and culinary fundraiser, supporting the Colorado Springs Conservatory, is highlighting the Wines of the California Central Coast: Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara.
The Conservatory inspires, motivates and challenges students to reach their highest potential, offering immersion studies and community arts advocacy. After-school, daytime, private lessons, performance and community opportunities, master classes and summer workshops are available. Students who have participated in the core after school music, performance, and theater programs have continued their education at institutes of higher learning … many on scholarship.
Philanthropy at its finest
The annual Wine Festival of Colorado Springs and the Colorado Springs Conservatory have been a perfect pairing since 2014! In addition to sharing the community’s annual fundraiser, the entities are both recognized and respected in the community.
“Thanks to our supportive and generous community, we have consistently achieved year-over-year growth since the festival’s inception,” said Chairperson Elizabeth Youngquist. “Many members of our all-volunteers committee have been with us to put together every fundraiser; that says a lot about the event and the people involved. Amazing things happen at the Colorado Springs Conservatory every day … and at the Wine Festival of Colorado Springs each year!”
Up-and-coming wines intrigue the masses!
California’s Central Coast runs from the south of San Francisco to Santa Barbara, with approximately 100,000 acres – or 40,500 hectares – devoted to the vibrant vineyards of 40 American Viticultural Areas. There is a long history of quality winemaking in the area, with myriad climate conditions and soil types producing a diverse range of flavors. There is some kind of wine for everyone in this vast region famous for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah and more!
Passions on parade
This year’s festival will host winemakers, owners, vintners, partners and presidents as guests who will impart their love for and knowledge of wine to attendees at planned hands-on experiences. Those scheduled to attend this year’s festival include:
