Commuters along Marksheffel Road on the east side of Colorado Springs will need to detour early next week because of road work, according to a news release from the city.

Marksheffel Road will be closed overnight from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Monday-Wednesday while crews install temporary concrete barriers from Dublin Boulevard to Stetson Hills Boulevard,  officials said in the news release.

Drivers are asked to use Peterson Road as a detour route . Signs will be in place to direct drivers .

The construction project on Marksheffel between Barnes Road and Dublin is scheduled to continue into late 2026.
