Thomas McCarley, 54, was arrested after allegedly assaulting a woman Tuesday evening at 31 Iowa Ave.

Colorado Springs police responded to a call of disturbance involving a man with a knife threatening to stab a woman at Ichiban Spa located at 29 Iowa Ave. at about 8 p.m.

The victim told police McCarley came in for a massage at 7:30 p.m. then left. He returned about 10 minutes later, demanded she give him money and dragged her outside of the building into a parking lot toward his car, according to the affidavit.

A witness told officers he heard McCarley tell the victim she owed him $4,000 while he was dragging her.

The victim got away and ran back into the building, locked the doors and called police.

When officers arrived, McCarley had left the area around the building. Police deployed K-9 unit Creed to locate McCarley, who was hiding nearby next to a dumpster.

McCarley was arrested and is facing felony kidnapping and assault charges. He was released on a $3,000 bond, and his next court appearance will be Feb. 6 at 3 p.m.
