Traffic is disrupted Wednesday in southeast Colorado Springs because of a water main break, according to Colorado Springs Utilities.

The southbound lanes at the intersection of South Hancock Avenue from East Las Animas Street to East Fountain Boulevard were expected to be closed until 5 p.m. Wednesday while crews work to repair the break.

The westbound lanes of East Fountain Boulevard from South Hancock Avenue to South Cedar Street were also expected to be closed until 5 p.m.

Utilities is encouraging drivers to use alternate routes for the day until the repairs are complete and the lanes open.
