Police bust truck carrying over 100 pounds of methamphetamine
Colorado Springs Police Department stopped a truck carrying over 100 pounds of illegal narcotics into the Pikes Peak region Jan. 19.
The previous day, police became aware of a vehicle carrying a large amount of methamphetamine that could be coming into the city. The following day, the department initiated an investigation into the vehicle’s location.
The vehicle was located on Interstate 25, where police made contact. K-9 units with the Colorado Springs Police Department alerted officers to the presence of illegal narcotics coming from the vehicle.
Three large bins were discovered in the truck bed, two of which contained approximately 107.2 pounds of methamphetamine.
Charges are pending as police say this remains an active ongoing investigation.
