One individual is dead following a shooting at a King Soopers parking lot in Colorado Springs Monday evening, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Around 4:39 p.m., police received a call for service stating one person had been shot at the King Soopers parking lot off Stetson Hills Boulevard, police told news outlets during a media briefing.

Upon arrival, officers located one deceased individual inside a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound near the gas pumps outside the grocery store.

At this time, police have not located or identified a suspect and the investigation remains ongoing and active, officials said.

The Colorado Springs Police Department’s Violent Crimes Detectives have been notified and are responding to continue the investigation, according to officials.

Police said King Soopers remains open at this time but the gas station is closed.
