Man arrested in fraud investigation linked to Comfort Suite room rentals in Colorado Springs
A Colorado Springs man is facing a slew of charges after Colorado Springs police say they found evidence he rented multiple hotel rooms with a stolen credit card.
On Monday at 6:30 p.m., police were called to investigate a possible fraud situation at Comfort Suites, located in the 5900 Block of Stetson Hills Boulevard.
The reporting party said multiple rooms had been rented out by a single person. Colorado Springs police officers say they found a total of six rooms had been rented using a stolen credit card.
During law enforcement’s investigation, officers contacted a male found returning to one of the involved rooms. Officers say they found a loaded handgun and illegal narcotics on the man.
The suspect, later identified as 45-year-old Joshua Holland, was arrested on several felony charges related to firearms and illegal narcotics.
In the other involved rooms, officers recovered firearm parts, additional illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia, credit cards and government-issued identification cards belonging to multiple people.
Officers note Holland has targeted other hotels in the area recently. As of Tuesday evening, Holland remains in El Paso County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
