The motive for why career Army man Matthew Livelsberger, 37, apparently committed suicide before detonating a rented Tesla Cybertruck in front of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on New Year’s Day remains unclear.

However, investigators have laid out the path he took from his home in Colorado Springs to that fateful valet station.

Dec. 28 — Livelsberger takes possession of a Cybertruck in Denver, which he rented from the vehicle’s owner through the app Turo.

Dec. 29 — Livelsberger texted an ex-girlfriend out of the blue. “I rented a Tesla Cybertruck. It’s the s***.” 

Dec. 30 — The Cybertruck is charged at a Tesla charging lot in Monument.

Dec. 31 — Charging records show that he stopped in Trinidad, Las Vegas, N.M., Albuquerque, N.M., and Gallup, N.M.

Jan. 1 — Through stops at charging stations, investigators say his route took him through the Arizona municipalities of Holbrook, Flagstaff and Kingman.

Police say they have footage of the Cybertruck entering Las Vegas around 7:30 a.m. Video surveillance shows Livelsberger driving around the area for a while before parking in the Trump hotel valet area around 8:30 a.m. Within 17 seconds the truck explodes.

Later that evening, and the following morning, law enforcement organizations, including the FBI, were seen at Livelsberger’s Colorado Springs residence, in the 5400 block of Carvel Grove.
