Suspect in downtown stabbing arrested: Colorado Springs police
Colorado Springs police on Saturday arrested a man suspected of a stabbing, law enforcement officials said.
Deonte Cox, 30, is being held at the El Paso County Jail and faces a first-degree assault charge, according to police.
Officers with the Downtown Area Response Team responded to an 11:15 p.m. call about a stabbing on North Cascade Avenue, near Pikes Peak Avenue. The male victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, officials said.
Acting on suspect information received at the scene, DART officers determined that they had dealt with the suspect in connection with an earlier, separate incident. After a brief search, officers found Cox in the 300 block of North Nevada Avenue and arrested him.
Cox was being held on $25,000 bond, jail records show.
