Colorado Springs police are investigating a shooting that took place Saturday on the city’s east side, officials said.

The shooting took place just after 8 p.m. at the Powell Point Apartments near North Carefree Circle and Tutt Boulevard, according to police.

A victim was taken to a hospital and treated for unspecified injuries. Their condition has not been released. One person was taken into custody in connection with the incident.

A preliminary investigation suggests that the two parties were known to each other, and that the shooting took place during a disturbance, a CSPD sergeant told The Gazette.
