The Broadmoor to host annual father-daughter dance by A Daughter’s Journey

A Daughter’s Journey is set to host its annual father-daughter dance this month at The Broadmoor.

The nonprofit’s dance will feature a performance by the Colorado Ballet Society, a sit-down dinner, activities and live music by Diamond Empire. Greg Lindsey, lead pastor of Discovery Church in Colorado Springs, will also be speaking at the event.

“To me, the relationship with father and daughter is very unique and very special,” said Frank Djonbalaj, president of A Daughter’s Journey. “We think that is a relationship that needs to be nurtured and fostered.”

This year, the theme of the dance will be “Beloved.”

“We just think our daughters need to know they’re beloved and we definitely have the love of God in our hearts and the desire to continue to foster the relationship,” he said.

For 25 years the dance was held by A Daughter’s Heart, but after President Renee Behr retired, Djonbalaj decided to continue the tradition with a new nonprofit, A Daughter’s Journey. This will be its third year hosting the event.

“We put together a board, we changed the name from A Daughter’s Heart to A Daughter’s Journey — and ADJ was born,” he said.
