Colorado Springs police are looking for a suspect in an alleged sexual assault attempt that took place early Sunday, according to an online blotter entry.

At about 2:30 a.m., police received a report about an attack that took place in the 1800 block of South Nevada Avenue. The alleged victim told police that she was walking home from the downtown area when she spotted an unknown male walking behind her. The man reportedly followed her for more than half a mile before he attacked her from behind.

The man “forcibly groped” the woman and tried to drag her away, but she fought him off and ran, police said.

“The suspect is unknown and is not accounted for at this time,” the blotter entry stated.
