Man arrested for slew of charges after domestic disturbance Thursday night
Colorado Springs police on Thursday evening arrested a man suspected of strangulation, assault, and child abuse among other charges, according to a blotter entry.
Bryan Jenkins, 29, is being held at the El Paso Criminal Justice Center and is facing these charges while on a mental health hold.
At approximately 10:19 p.m., police were dispatched to a residence on the east side of Colorado Springs in the 600 block of Jemison Grove by the corner of North Powers Blvd. and East Platte Ave. for a call of domestic disturbance.
When officers arrived, they heard a disturbance in the apartment home with no answer, so they forced entry. According to police, Jenkins was confrontational and non-compliant. Officers deployed a taser twice and Jenkins struck the side of an officer’s face from the ground.
Jenkins was taken into custody and taken to a local hospital for evaluation before being taken to the Criminal Justice Center.
